It is important to note that the Atma is strung as one long rope.  The double-strand impression is achieved by doubling the rope in your hand and holding out straight so that two strands are of equal length.  It is then easily slipped over head to drape comfortably from the nape of the neck. 

Artist’s Comment: One may choose to wear these prayer malas in a variety of ways, such as shortening or lengthening one strand that it touches the chakra you wish it to balance.
